Canada Sweeps T20 Series 2-0 vs. USA

Canada Retains Some of its Pride
By John L. Aaron

Canada, today stormed back to win back-to-back T20 matches against the USA at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club Ground, and in convincing fashion.

In the AM T20 clash Canda scored 145/5 in 20 overs, while the USA could only respond with 107/4 in their allotted 20 overs. In the PM T20 just completed Canada scored 145/5 in their 20 overs, while a lethargic USA could only muster 107/4 in response.

With the weekend tournament now over, both teams have walked away with something; the USA with the coveted slot to the Bangladeshi qualifier next year, and hopefully on their way to the 2013 Women's Cricket World Cup in India, while Canada retains some of its pride in at least sweping the USA in the two T20 matches, which had no bearing on the qualifying event this weekend.

Hopefully, the tarnished pride of Canda will heal and they will be the competitive team they have always been in the Americas region.

Scorecards to follow.
