Overview

Coach education is critical in encouraging, developing and improving players across the US. USACA is working to establish educational opportunities for those interested in contributing to the growth of the game within their community.  Coaching courses not only aid in providing key concepts and skills to fulfill a particular role, they also groom individuals to take on leadership roles that mentor, advise and inspire players.  USACA strongly believes that these individuals will play a vital role for cricket to succeed in USA. USACA is working to develop a coach education pathway that allows coaches the opportunity to learn and improve their knowledge and skills as appropriate to the group they are coaching.

The current coaching pathway for US coaches is listed below:

Level One Coaching  - ICC recognized USACA run accreditation course

Level Two Coaching – USACA partner with Cricket Australia to provide coaches with opportunities for Level 2 accreditation

Level Three Coaching - USACA partner with Cricket Australia to provide coaches with opportunities for Level 3 accreditation

Congratulations Coach Raghu Boorada

Coach Raghu needs no introduction in Cricketing world, especially across the USA Cricket. He is a Cricket Australia High Performance Level III Accredited coach with the vision of developing the game from beginner to professional. In his 17 years of coaching, Coach Raghu was instrumental in producing sparkling top talent prodigies that are shining all over the Cricketing world today.

Mr. Rafey Syed 2nd VP of USACA said;

“USACA is proud to have Raghu as its member with a Level III accreditation, the highest level coach in the sport of Cricket”.

At the core, Raghu’s philosophy has remained the same even as he remains abreast of the changing Cricketing universe. He believes in letting the player “organically grow” and not interfere with their natural ability. Thus he focuses on an all-round development model that will help the cricketer become physically fit, mentally strong and technically sound. The idea is to help the player excel in every aspect of the game, help them play longer, recover quicker, concentrate better and perform more efficiently.

Raghu puts emphasis on not only developing cricketing skills but also life skills - that the cricketer will continue to complement the positive experiences from both the Cricketing and life experiences which to him are two sides of the same coin. He believes “The better the person, the better the cricketer”.

USACA congratulates Coach Raghu on attaining his Level III coach accreditation certification. Coaches are a crucial part of ensuing that youngsters are enjoying their cricket and learning as they go. USACA will offer even more coach education courses in 2014 and we encourage anyone that is coaching at any level to sign up and gain the knowledge and skills required to coach the game.
